A phone connection can be surrendered at any time by writing to the concerned Commercial Officer. For refund of the Security Deposit original papers must be produced. Normally refund is issued within 60 days from the date of sanction of the refund by the competent authority. If it is delayed more, then for the whole period of delay interest is to be paid by the Department at the rate which is prevailing for  45 days term deposit offered by the State Bank of India.

TATKAL phones surrendered in the 1st Year : Registration fee refund Rs 12,000

TATKAL phones surrendered in the 2nd Year : Registration fee refund Rs 15,000

TATKAL phones surrendered in the 3rd Year & later : Registration fee refund 18,000
