Application for shifting is to be made in the specific form no. Comm-15. Application is to be submitted in the Commercial Office of the respective area under which the telephone is working at the time of applying for shift. Telephone can also be shifted on All India Basis. For details,please meet the concerned Commercial Officer. In case of shift the subscriber should carry to his/her new address the phone instrument along with its accessories. Before removal of the phone it may kindly be ensured that the line has been disconnected at the exchange. Concerned Shift Officer (SDOP / JTO) may be contacted for any assistance in this regard. Subscriber should also carry his/her Telephone Directory with him to new place. This may not be done in case of all India shifts. In that case the phone instrument & the directory should be surrendered under receipt. Shifting of a Phone Line is permitted under the following conditions : At any time within the same Exchange Area. For Non-OYT (Spl) and Non-OYT(Genl.) categories,shift is permitted to other exchange areas if the phone line has worked for at least 18 months in the existing Exchange Area. For OYT category phones the minimum period is 6 months. The date of registration for the connection to be shifted is prior to the release date of new lines of the specific category in the destination Exchange. Shifting of a phone is permitted for the same subscriber. Where there is a change in the name / constitution of the subscriber, the necessary name transfer ( see below) has to be effected first at the existing address. Telephone provided at the residence in Selected Subscriber. (“SS”) category is not permitted to be shifted to a non-residential address. At the time of applying for shift there should not be any bill outstanding against the phone for which the shift is being applied for. Temporary telephones cannot be shifted as the same is provided for specific purpose of urgent nature at a particular place and for a specified period. |
