Duly filled in Application forms are to be submitted to the Commercial Officer of the respective area under which the Phone connection is required.

Phone-on-Phone

You may ring the Commercial Officer, fix an appointment for a Calcutta Telephones staff to meet  you with a Phone Application form, help you fill it up at your place and collect the necessary charges to be paid by cheque.

Applications can be registered in any one of the following categories :

Installation charges

• For all the above categories except Sl. No. “6” is Rs 800
  


• For category “5” , the installation charge is ‘NIL’
  
  
• No installation fee for War Widows, Gallantry Award Winners, Disabled Soldiers, and Advocatesunder certain conditions.
  


• If a subscriber buys his/her own instrument only then discount in installation charge :Rs 500 (w.e.f. 20.08.2001)
  
  
•  If a subscriber gets done the internal wiring only for phone at his/her premises then discount in Installation charge : Rs 250
  
  
• If a subscriber done both internal wiring and buy instrument then rebate in installation charge will be 750 (w.e.f. 20.08.2001)
  
  
• Any change of address after application of a new connection may please be informed to the  concerned Commercial Officer.
  
  
• Time limit to provide phone connection :According to DOT guidelines an OYT connection is to be  provided within six months of Registration and Non-OYT connection to be provided within two years from the month following the month of registration fees.
  
  
• Waiting Charge :  Registration Fee paid will carry an interest for the period commencing from the  date of payment and ending on the day immediately preceding the date of installation of the phone connection at the rate of interest payable by the SBI on fixed deposits made with SBI for a period of one year. The waiting charge is calculated for the completed number of months at the rate in force on the date of payment of the registration fee. In case of delay in providing connection beyond the DOT guidelines (mentioned above) the registration fee will carry an additional waiting charge @ 3% over and above the normal rate, for the period of completed months of delay beyond the DOT guidelines.
  
  Cancellation of Phone Registration : Registration for a new phone connection may be canceled at any time before the release of phone connection, by writing to the concerned Commercial Officer.
  
  Calcutta Telephones can terminate a phone registration in case
  
  
• Application is incomplete in any essential respect or the applicant cannot be traced or identified.
  
  
• Applicant does not comply with the requirement of rules of Calcutta Telephones / DTS.
  
  
• Applicant is not ready to take the connection within three months when Calcutta Telephones is  ready to install the telephone.
  
  
• Refund of advance deposit is not automatic. After a registration is canceled /terminated, the applicant has to apply to the concerned Commercial Officer separately.
  
  
• In case at the time Calcutta Telephones comes to provide a new phone connection, the applicant wants the phone to be provided a little later, the case is treated similar to the phone safe custody.
