The PRM service enables Service providers / Consultants / Celebrities ( i.e. the PRM subscriber ) to provide value added information based services to the users of the Service with hassle free billing for such services using the phone call billing system.

Calls made to the Premium Rate Number are charged at a rate higher than a normal call – as decided by the PRM subscriber. The revenue generated as a result of PRM calls is shared between the network provider ( e.g. BSNL ) and PRM subscribers.

Utility of PRM Service  :

The Premium Rate Service is very useful for different kind of information based service providers either Individual or any Organization. The information based service can include information related to stock markets, astrology, consultation services, tech support, doctor advice, fan calls to celebrities etc. The users access the service by dialing the PRM number and such calls are charged at a higher rate than a normal call. The PRM subscriber is freed form the hassle of chasing after clients for collecting consultation / service fees.

How to use PRM ?

Each PRM subscriber while taking a PRM subscription is assigned a 10-digiit PRM number like 0900-33-wxyz. wxyz is the number assigned to the PRM subscriber, the rest is common prefix. The subscriber also defines a plan of routing calls to his PRM number.

However, a PRM number is at present dialable from any place within the zone of local calls.( e.g. within a city ). However, the PRM calls can be made to other distance locations but the charge will be higher than the specified PRM pulse rates.

Users have to dial this 10 digit PRM number advertised by the PRM subscriber.

Any call made to the PRM number is actually routed to an ordinary phone line already belonging to the PRM subscriber.

PRM calls can be routed to different destinations depending on criteria defined by the PRM subscriber i.e. based on any combination of origin dependent routing, time dependent routing, call screening, call forwarding, etc.

A PRM Service provider can register more than one phone number located anywhere within the local call area against a single PRM number ( 0900-33-wxyz ) and may have his/her own pre-defined routing plan with a variety of choices :

  • He/She may wish to receive calls from a particular locality or city to a phone of that locality or city only.
  • He/She can receive calls to a preferred number on holidays / weekends / outside working hours within the city.
  • He/She can have the call forwarding based on certain conditions.
The phone line used for making such calls to PRM will be charged at a rate higher than a normal call – as decided by the PRM subscriber and advertised by the subscriber to his/her customers.

The PRM subscriber will get bi-monthly statement of details of calls received by him / her through PRM dialing.
