This is a service to facilitate anyone abroad to make calls to India on a collected call basis i.e. the phone no. in India which will receive the call from abroad will be billed. The caller abroad will have to pay a nominal charge as applicable in the respective calling country.

How to dial ?
The calling party from abroad will dial a unique access number depending on the country of origin – as given in the list below.
The call will land on a special position in the International Trunk Exchange, Mumbai, India. The operator handling the call will ask the called party phone number in India and will verify the willingness of the called party in India to accept the charge for such a “India-Direct Service” call and on being satisfied will put through the call.

Charging for India-Direct Service Calls

• A) Rs 5 per call plus
• B) Call charge for an ISD call applicable from India to the Country from where the INDIA-DIRECT call is coming for a duration equal to = “completed minutes of the call plus any fractional minute rounded to 1 minute”. plus
• C) Additional surcharge equivalent to 1-minute duration ISD call in addition to items A& B above.
