BSNL Civil WB and Calcutta Telecom District Zones are an integral part of BSNL and fulfill all the infrastructure requirements of the West Bengal Telecom Circle and Calcutta Telecom District. Construction of new buildings and maintenance of existing buildings, staff quarters etc. are being done by these BSNL Civil Zones.These have an expert team of Civil Engineers who supervise the construction and maintenance works. It has all the infrastructure facilities for in-house planning, design and execution of buildings and infrastructure through experienced and registered contractors. Project planning and design is facilitated through computers using various reputed software of the Civil Engineering field. Drafting is being done by departmental staff either manually or through computers. The estimation (Preliminary as well as Detailed estimates, market rate analysis, justification charts) and tender evaluation are being done through the computers with the in-house developed software package "ACCO" and “PWD-PLAN” etc. Construction of buildings is done through systematic approach to project management techniques in a time bound manner. All the building construction work is regularly monitored at various levels to ensure quality work.
